If you plan to use this holder with an iPad Pro 12" (and likely other models) and an Apple Pencil Gen 2, please consider that the holder covers the top where you normally would have the pen charging. There are a few possible workarounds, but none of them is perfect.
You could turn the iPad upside down, putting the pen to charge at the bottom. As I do not want the pen to drop, I do not find this solution suitable. Also, this way the volume buttons are covered by the holder.
The other option is what I did. Turning the stand upside down. This is somewhat involved, as you need to fully disassemble everything, and when you finally put it together you will end up with the K&M logo upside down (you might be able to remove and reseat the sticker, but I rather leave it as is). That is a minor thing, as it is covered by the iPad anyway. This way the pen is resting on the top as it is supposed to. The volume buttons are still covered though. Please note that the holder is not meant to be modified like this, and there are no instructions available from K&M supporting this.
Third option is to use the holder the way it is supposed to, using some external charger for the pen. That means the volume buttons are accessible too. It is probably the best option, but I really want to have my pen charged by the iPad when it is mounted in the stand, so it's a no-go for me.
Other than this, the stand is great. All three options above also support vertical orientation. In fact, if only using it vertically, this is not as big of an issue. The volume buttons are still covered, but there is no issue charging the pen. Oh, and you might not really need the volume buttons, as you still can change the volume in the control center.
